Panel

This is where the user selects the type of panel required.

Creating New Panels

Refer to the support document "Creating New Panels"

Panel Tab Definitions

The following describes parameter setting and values that can be set for the door within the Door Factory.

All the Type and Instance parameters can be changed in Revit after the door has been created.

All parameters are classed as Family Wide Parameters, Type Parameters or Instance Parameters

.

Rough Height, Rough Width

Type parameters for standard doors.
Opening dimensions within the hosted wall for the doors to be fitted into.
Curtain panel doors do not come with usable Rough Height or Rough Width parameters (this is a Revit system feature and cannot be changed)

Height, Width

Type parameters for standard doors.

Instance parameters for curtain panel doors.

These parameters report the Rough Height and Rough Width (as above) to allow for consistency across both standard and curtain panel doors (a necessity for scheduling).

Panel Width

Type parameter for standard doors.
The main (primary) panel width for standard doors.
For curtain panel doors this is an instanced reporting parameter which gets its value from the width of the curtain panel in the project

Secondary Panel Width

Type parameters for double doors (including 1+1 sliders)
The secondary panel width for standard doors. For curtain panel doors this is an instanced reporting parameter which gets its value from the width of the curtain panel in the project.

Non-Equal Primary Panel Width

Type parameter for double curtain panel doors.
If type parameter “Equal Panels” is unticked, “Panel Width” equals this value and “Secondary Panel Width” is dependent on the curtain panel width.

Equal Panels

Type parameter for double curtain panel doors.
If this parameter is ticked, “Panel Width” and Secondary Panel Width” are equal.

Panel Height

Type parameter for all doors.
For curtain panel doors this value is dependent on the curtain panel height.

Panel Protrusion into Opening

Type parameter for all sliding doors.

The protrusion of the panel when fully (100%) open.

Panel Type

Type Parameter.
Specification item for scheduling. Fill in the “Description” Parameter in the panel family and it will prepopulate the item within the Door Factory.

Panel Specific Parameters

Family wide parameters.
Length parameters within the panel component that are setup within the component itself. If the parameter starts with the letters “a” to “e” followed by an underscore they will be changeable within the Door Factory. (ie: a_Vision Panel Height)

Panel Tolerances:

Panel to Head Gap

Family wide parameter.
Gap between the head of the panel and the jamb above (or wall above if no jamb)

Panel Tolerances:

Panel to Head Lap

Family wide parameter for sliding doors etc
Lap of the panel over the jamb above (or wall above if no jamb)

Panel Tolerances:

Panel to Doorstop Gap

Family wide parameter.
Gap between the head of the panel and the jamb/wall above.

Panel Tolerances:

Panel to Base Gap

Family wide parameter.
Gap between the base of the panel and the jamb/wall/ floor below. This doesn’t include the “Panel Undercut”.

Panel Undercut

Instance parameter.
Additional gap under door, commonly used for ventilation purposes.

Panel Tolerances:

Panel to Jamb Gap Side 1

Panel to Jamb Gap Side 2

Family wide parameter.

Side1: The Gap between the side of the panel and the adjacent jamb at the latch (or opening) end

Side2: The Gap between the side of the panel and the adjacent jamb at the hinge (or closed) end

Panel Tolerances:

Panel to Wall Gap Side 1

Panel to Wall Gap Side 2

Family wide parameter for doors with no jambs.

Side1: The Gap between the side of the panel and the adjacent wall at the latch (or opening) end.

Side2: The Gap between the side of the panel and the adjacent wall at the hinge (or closed) end.

Panel Tolerances:

Panel to Jamb Lap Side 1

Panel to Jamb Lap Side 2

Family wide parameter for sliding doors where the panel overlaps the jamb.

Side1: The Lap of the panel over the adjacent jamb at the latch (or opening) end.

Side2: The Lap of the panel over the adjacent jamb at the closed end.

Panel Tolerances:

Panel to Wall Lap Side 1

Panel to Wall Lap Side 2

Family wide parameter for sliding doors as above but where "no jambs" has been selected.

Side1: The Lap of the panel over the adjacent wall at the latch (or opening) end.

Side2: The Lap of the panel over the adjacent wall at the closed end.

Panel Tolerances:

Panel to Panel Gap

Family wide parameter.

Gap between the panels where more than one panel exists.

Panel Tolerances:

Panel to Panel Lap

Family wide parameter for sliding doors.

Lap of a panel and an adjacent panel.

Panel Tolerances:

Panel to Panel Offset

Family wide parameter for sliding doors.

Offset distance between one panel and an adjacent panel.
